Jira integration
Send actionable Errorgap work into Jira while keeping runtime context attached to the error group or incident.
Use Jira when production fixes, follow-up work, or incident actions need to be tracked in your team's planning workflow. Errorgap remains the place for runtime evidence.
When to use Jira
- Create Jira work when an error needs planned engineering follow-up.
- Link existing Jira issues when the team has already started work.
- Use Jira for prioritization while keeping Errorgap state accurate.
Connect a project
- Open project settings and select Integrations.
- Select Jira.
- Choose the Jira project and issue behavior available to your organization.
- Save and create or link a test issue from a safe group.
Create issues
Create Jira issues only for work that needs tracking beyond immediate triage. Include the Errorgap group or incident link, current impact, suspected code path, and any release clues.
Keep context aligned
Jira can track ownership and planning, but Errorgap should reflect runtime state. Resolve or reopen the Errorgap group as production behavior changes.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm the project is connected to the intended Jira workspace.
- Check required Jira fields if issue creation fails.
- Link an existing issue when a duplicate ticket already exists.
